Who We Are:
Swanglish (Swahili+English) is an intercultural music group that primarily utilizes East African and Western music styles.Some examples: Gospel, funk, pop, neo soul, and a modern blend of Afro jazz fusion. Swanglish operates mostly in Birmingham, Alabama with its efforts led by founder and band leader, Ben Ndalima who studied music in the USA while being a native to Dar es Salaam,Tanzania. Swanglish is a supergroup that organically formed because of its holistic belief in inclusiveness, self care and collaboration.
Mission:
To collaborate with our cohorts, serve and provide music entertainment services in local and international communities. This is done by creating personable relationships on and off the stage which ultimately brings a therapeutic experience while initiating unity among people

Our Services & Partnership (Collaborative efforts):
It is our wish to develop a partnership by being one of your go to bands for music entertainment services in Birmingham. Swanglish has partnered with the cities of Columbiana, Montevallo, Calera, and more. With that said, our band is focused on plugging into the community through entertainment functions/events like festivals, shows, formal functions and/or parties, weddings, grand openings, etc. So far, we have played at the Tinglewood fest (Montevallo), Liberty day festival in Columbiana, Coffee shop at Calera Main Street, the Shelby County Arts Council, show openings in Columbiana & Gadsden and more. Please consider our partnership and future collaborations as we continue to build the community, state and nation together.
